I have noticed that there are some people who are compulsive flushers. As soon as they have someone else walk in the rest room, they flush. I was explained once that it is a courtesy flush. What the hell is a courtesy flush?

To mask the sounds? To let someone else know someone else is in the rest room? What is it for?

I don’t understand. It’s not like you are doing something that needs to be announced to the world, you know.
