Am trying to migrate the stuff on my desktop to a laptop. Its not as easy as it seems.

I was able to transfer stuff (“data”) from the desktop to the laptop, but all the application-related settings, I don’t even know where the stuff is. For example I was not able to migrate Trillian settings, easily. The profiles folder was easy, but to let trillian know that the profile folder is at a particular location, was not easy at all.

After a lot of kludgy moves, I think the laptop is ready for prime time usage. I think. Still feel a little uneasy blowing up the desktop, making it ready for sale. But you gotta do what you gotta do and I am going to do it.
